It all started with a simple question

Is an airplane a flotation device?
We have seen an airplane land on water before (like the Hudson river landing), and float for a bit. But nobody seems to consider them a flotation device. We ask: Why not?
The airplane can float on water, and by definition, it should be considered a flotation device, just like 100s of other things in the world

Why did this question come up?

So I may have told some friends that I arrived to this country on a flotation device when I first met them. What I did not tell them that I was referring to an airplane, because airplanes can float on water.
Since then, we have been debating over this, but until the definition of the phrase "flotation device" is changed, this argument may always remain a gray area.

What can you do to help this movement?

We are on a mission to change the perception of what a "flotation device" really means. But also, I want to win against my friends in this argument. We have listed below a few things you can do to help.

Create awareness

Use appropriate verbiage
